Decorating your Christmas tree for the holidays is pretty straight forward business, but there is in fact a step by step order of doing things to make it easier to put up, and to take down after the celebrations are over.
1. Lay down the Christmas tree skirt – Make sure to do this first, before the tree is too heavy to move. The Christmas tree skirt adds style and will be a cushion for any potential falling ornaments.
2. Hang the lights – Start at the base of the tree trunk and move upwards, making sure to illuminate the inside of the tree, as well as the outer branches.
3. String the garland – Start at the top of the tree and move down progressively, without wrapping the branches too tightly.
4. Hang the ornaments – The final step is hanging the ornaments. Try not to weigh down the branches with too many ornaments.
