Nigeria’s bobsledding team are the first Nigerian athletes to take part in the Winter Olympics. Moreover, the three women from Nigeria are the first athletes from Africa to ever qualify for the Winter Olympics in the sport category of bobsledding!
Seun Adigun, Ngozi Onwumere, and Akuoma Omeoga will compete in the Winter Olympics, which will be taking place from February 9, 2018 to February 25, 2018 in Pyeongchang, South Korea.
The team’s sled is named the Maeflower, after Seun’s stepsister, nicknamed Maemae, who died in a car accident back in 2009. This emotional drive will hopefully get them to the winning title!
