The BBC has opened its newest bureau in Lagos, bringing in majors investment to Nigeria, creating over 100 new jobs in Lagos.

This new bureau means that BBC News will be available in five languages across Nigeria (Igbo, Pidgin, Yoruba, Hausa and English).

Coverage will include major focus on women and young people, and will include news and editorials on politics, health, and other chief topics in the world.

Another thing to look forward to is the fact that BBC will be investing in the region further by launching a mentorship and internship scheme for the next generation of West African journalists.
